Panko Crusted Baked Tofu

Instructions

  • 1 package extra firm tofu.
  • 1 package of japanese panko bread crumbs.
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce.
  • Olive Oil.

  • Drain the tofu & rinse under cold water.
  • Press tofu with a tofu press or 2 plates, drain excess water.
  • Slice tofu in half-inch pieces width-wise.
  • Pour barbecue sauce in a medium-sized bowl.
  • Pour some panko breadcrumbs in a medium-sized bowl. You can also mix in any seasonings you would like.
  • Lightly coat a non-stick baking pan with olive oil.
  • Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Dip tofu slices in the barbecue sauce, coating all sides well.
  • Dip barbecued tofu in the panko, covering all sides well.
  • Place tofu on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, flip tofu, bake for another 15 minutes or until panko is getting golden brown.
